Frequently Asked Questions

Why are most Americans deficient in Magnesium?

There are many factors that deplete us of Magnesium.  The major ones include stress, caffeine, alcohol, vitamin D deficiency, and eating processed foods.

When should I use the body butter?

Many people like to use it 20-30 minutes before bedtime to help with sleep.  Some use ½ teaspoon morning and night.  See what works best for you.

Can I get too much Magnesium?

No. Our bodies will release any magnesium that is not needed.

Where is the best place to apply the body butter?

Our body butter can be applied just about anywhere on the body.  Some people like to apply it to their arms, legs and stomach.  The feet are also good receptors.

Be sure to avoid putting it on open cuts, recently shaved skin or near the eyes.

How much Magnesium is stored in the body?

An adult body contains approximately 25 grams of Magnesium.  Less than 1% of total magnesium is in blood serum, which is why it is difficult to diagnose deficiencies through bloodwork alone. 99% of your body’s Magnesium is located in bone, muscles, and soft tissue.

Where should I store my jar?

In a location that will not get warm like a car or near a window.  During warm summer months, the refrigerator is a good option. A shelf that does not get direct sunlight is fine too.

I felt a little tingling on my skin after the first use. Is that normal?

Yes, that is normal.  This indicates that you likely have a deficiency, and it will lesson with regular use.  Remember not to apply it to any areas on the skin that are cut, sunburned or damaged.

How long does it take to replenish a Magnesium deficiency?

That depends on how low your levels were to start with.  For many people it takes 2-4 weeks to start noticing a difference.  Just be sure to keep using it every day. Consistency is key to getting good results.

Is the body butter okay for my sensitive skin?

Yes, it is safe for sensitive skin.  In fact, skin conditions like eczema improve for many people.  The organic oils and butters are extremely high quality which support sensitive skin.  You may want to start with ½ teaspoon daily to start with, and then increase to 1 teaspoon daily after a week.

Will this cause stomach upsets like oral Magnesium supplements?

No. We use a different kind of Magnesium than oral supplements.

Can I use this on my children to help them get a better night’s sleep?

Yes!  At bedtime use a pea-size and rub in gently to their calves or feet.  This helps children to get better quality sleep.  If they complain of growing pains, apply directly to the area they are experiencing pain.

Where is the Magnesium sourced from?

We source it from the Netherlands, which has the most pure and clean Magnesium in the world.

Why do you recommend using a spoon to remove body butter from the jar?

The less bacteria we are introducing to any of our natural products, the better.  Even clean fingers have bacteria on them, so it’s good to get in the habit of using a small utensil instead.  Just rinse it off in between uses and let it dry.
