Where to Apply Topical Magnesium for Pain
Topical Magnesium is a wonder mineral, that can be used for muscle pain, headaches, restless leg syndrome, and post-exercise soreness.
We often get questions about where to apply our Magnesium Whips and Magnesium Lotions.
Here is a list, compiled from customer survey comments:
The condensed list below includes comments from some of our brave volunteers during the beta testing, and from our current customers. They used both the Magnesium whips (high-concentrate) and the lotions.

Where to Apply topical Magnesium: 20 Compelling Ideas from our Customers
- My armpits, at night. Then in the morning I don’t have to use deo.
- The bottoms of my feet (lots of comments like this) for good absorption before sleep.
- My left shoulder because I was in an accident and it’s tight
- Twice a day on my belly (nice big area, as I’m 7 1/2 months pregnant). The magnesium helps me to fall asleep faster.
- Both calves, after running. Sometimes shins, too.
- Lower back — it hurts ALL the time because I install flooring.
- The back of my neck, it’s a high stress point. I rub the magnesium cream into the neck muscle every night.
- My shins, right before weight training. Keeps them from getting sore.
- My right hip, still sore from a fall years ago.
- My temples, for migraine relief. (*Please be extra careful on the face.)
- The inner part of my elbows as it absorbs so quickly before bed. I use organic magnesium cream for chronic pain and sore muscles.
- A good magnesium rub into my quads for pain after pilates
- I use topical magnesium cream or lotion for anxiety. Rubbed into bottoms of feet at night.
- My butt cheeks (can I tell you that??) because it rubs in quickly, softens, and is easy for me to reach!
- All over my feet, including a good toe rub, after a mountain hike. Magnesium also helps with my chronic fatigue.
- My kids rub the magnesium into their calf muscles or the bottoms of their feet .
- Both shoulders as they seize up from sitting at my computer all day.
- I’ve found the magnesium is a balm for just about any ache or pain I have.
- My knees, because they get sore after long walks or doing stairs.
- I love a good magnesium rub (mini massage) for sore muscles, especially on my feet because I’m standing for most of the day.
Conclusion (be consistent!)
In conclusion, our testers and customers have many reasons for using topical Magnesium. Maybe you can use some of these ideas for yourself. Above all, the key to increasing our Magnesium levels is consistency. As long as you use Magnesium daily, it can take 2-4 weeks to build up your blood levels. Using our topical products daily will slowly increase them to optimal levels, so you can sleep better, have more energy, feel less anxious, have less pain, and do the things you want to do most.
